What we pay

What your car is worth — honestly

We can't put a single price on every car, but we can be straight about what drives the number. Here's how offers work and what lifts yours.

Get a free quoteHow it works

Every offer comes down to two things: the recyclable metal in your vehicle and the reusable parts worth recovering. The more of each — and the more in-demand they are locally — the higher the offer. Here's roughly how different vehicles stack up.

Even heavily damaged cars carry value in their undamaged parts and metal.
The condition ladder

From scrap to tidy runner.

Where your vehicle sits on this ladder is the biggest factor in the offer — but we pay across the whole range, including the bottom.

  • Running cars with WOF & regoThe most we pay. A tidy, road-legal car of a popular make can be resold or has fully working parts, so it tops the range.
  • Running cars, no WOF or regoStill strong. It drives and the parts work; it just can't legally be on the road until sorted — which doesn't matter to us.
  • Non-runners, completeSolid value. A dead car with all its panels, wheels, drivetrain and catalytic converter is full of reusable parts and recyclable metal.
  • Damaged & written-offDepends on what survived. Undamaged panels, a good interior and a sound drivetrain all add up, even with heavy damage elsewhere.
  • Scrap & strippedThe base of the range — paid on metal value — but almost always more than it costs to dump, and we remove it free.
What lifts your offer

The things that push the number up.

None of these are essential — we buy cars without any of them — but each one adds to what we can pay.

  • It runs and drives
  • Current WOF and rego
  • All parts present (especially the catalytic converter)
  • Popular make — Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Subaru, diesel utes & 4WDs
  • Low kilometres or recent work
  • Minimal rust and damage

What we pay — common questions

Can you give me a price range?

Offers vary widely — from around a hundred-odd dollars for a stripped scrap shell up to several thousand for a tidy, in-demand ute or 4WD. Because it depends so heavily on your specific vehicle, the only accurate figure is a real quote, which is free.

Why can't you just list fixed prices?

Because no two cars are the same. A 2010 Hilux and a 2010 hatchback of an obscure make are worth very different amounts, and condition changes everything. A quick quote gives you a firm number instead of a vague guess.

Do you ever drop the price at pickup?

No — not unless the vehicle is materially different from what you described. If it matches, the quoted price is what you're paid. We'd rather quote honestly up front than surprise you at the gate.
