Frequently asked questions

Do you buy cars that don't run?

Yes — non-runners are a big part of what we do. Flat battery, blown engine, seized, won't start: it makes no difference. We tow it away, so it never has to drive.

Is removal really free?

Yes. Free removal across Queenstown and all of the Southern Lakes is included in every offer. The cash we quote is what you get — no towing fees or deductions.

Do I need a WOF or rego to sell?

No. You can legally sell a vehicle without a current WOF or rego as long as it isn't driven on the road. Since we tow it, that's never an issue, and we sort the ownership paperwork too.

How much is my car worth?

It depends on make, model, year, condition and current parts and scrap values. The only accurate answer is a free quote — see our what we pay guide for how offers work.

How do you pay?

Cash on collection or a direct bank transfer — whichever suits you — paid at the time we pick the vehicle up.

How quickly can you collect?

Often same-day or next-day, depending on location and how busy we are. Pickups across the Lakes — Arrowtown, Wanaka, Cromwell and out to Glenorchy — are no problem.

Do you buy damaged or written-off cars?

Yes. Crash, flood, hail and mechanical damage, and insurance or statutory write-offs, are all bought for their salvageable value.

What paperwork do I need?

Proof you own the vehicle (registration papers or a licence matching the registered owner). We handle the change-of-ownership notification for you.

What areas do you cover?

All of the Queenstown-Lakes district and Central Otago — Queenstown, Frankton, Arrowtown, Lake Hayes, Wanaka, Cromwell, Glenorchy and the areas in between. See our areas page.

What happens to my car after you take it?

Fluids and hazardous materials are removed safely, reusable parts are recovered and resold, and the metal is recycled. Very little goes to waste.

Is there any obligation when I get a quote?

None. The quote is free and no-obligation. If it doesn't suit you, there's nothing to pay and no pressure.

Do you charge anything at all?

No. You never pay us — we pay you. Removal, paperwork and recycling are all included in the offer.
